NYU Graduate·Storyteller·AI Builder

Stories in,
Products out!

Entertainment business grad who spent hours reading scripts and scouting talent — now I'm building AI-powered tools that actually ship the ideas and visualize the narrative.

Custom Agents · Clari · Summer 2025

A suite of five GPT agents that took the tedious parts out of video production for a small marketing team, from the first brief to the published video.

  1. Slate

    Kickoff

    Jumpstarts projects from creative briefs.

  2. Frame

    Script

Turns creative briefs into first-run scripts.

  3. Reel

    Visuals

Breaks scripts down into visual sequences.

  4. Line

    Quotes

    Extracts usable quotes from transcripts.

  5. Hook

    Publish

Optimizes video titles and descriptions for YouTube SEO.

The problem

Clari's video production team was small, and much of its time went to the repetitive work before and after the shoot. I spotted the bottleneck myself and proposed a fix.

What I built

Five custom GPTs, one for each stage of the production lifecycle. I grounded them in Clari's brand guidelines and reference videos from YouTube, and documented them as repeatable frameworks that other functions could adapt.

The result

The team spent more of its time on execution and production. In my own use, a full customer testimonial video took two days instead of the usual week.

FYI: Built as an internal tool so there are no screenshots :(

Psst! This website is an example too! I designed and built it :)

John Max Byrne at his NYU graduation

Hello!

I'm an NYU graduate who majored in Entertainment Business with a minor in Creative Producing, sitting at the intersection between storytelling, media, and business strategy. Born and raised in the Bay Area, I started in Tisch's Drama program before switching to study the business side of the industry — producing, marketing, deal-making. Now I'm looking to bring that same mix of narrative instinct and business thinking to a marketing or creative role in tech.

What I bring to the table is an unusual combination: I write and act, I design and edit, and I've used AI to build things I've actually shipped. I've taught myself valuable tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, and I'm now having fun in Claude Code. With all that said, I can also still fold a sweater in under ten seconds thanks to a few years in retail. :)
